Will universities normal your ACT scores in the event that you step through the exam on numerous occasions? To put it plainly, no.Colleges donââ¬â¢t take the normal of your scores. Rather, they will take a gander at your ââ¬Å"bestâ⬠score;however, there are various ways a school can decide your best ACT score. In this article, Iââ¬â¢ll go over the various techniques schools use to take a gander at different ACT scores, on the off chance that they expect you to send all your ACT scores, and how you can utilize this data to further your potential benefit and help fortify your school applications. Do You Need to Send Schools All Your ACT Scores? Before you begin considering what universities do with various ACT scores, the principal thing you have to know is whether they expect you to send the consequences of each ACT you took in any case. Infact, most schools do NOTrequire you to send in the entirety of your scores, and ACT, Inc. makes it simple to pick which scores you need to send with a choice alluded to asScore Choice. (Note that the expression Score Choice is in fact more connected with the SAT Score Choice program, yet the ACT has a comparative strategy for its own grade announcing.) Schools that expect you to send in the entirety of your ACT scores will be alluded to as All Scores schools. The two kinds of schools are talked about in more detail beneath. Score Choice ACT Score Choice gives you the choice to send schools just the ACT scores you need them to see, rather than sending scores from each ACT you took. On the score report demand structure, you will be solicited to list your school from decision and the test date you need to send on each line. For schools that permit Score Choice, on the off chance that you did inadequately on one test date, you donââ¬â¢t need to send that score to schools, and they will never observe it. This implies on the off chance that you take the ACT sixtimes, you can decide to send just your best score, or your best two scores, or the same number of scores as you'd like. Know that ifyou are utilizing Score Choice and decide to send your scores from a particular test, you should send your scores for the whole test; you can't just send singular segment scores to schools. All Scores A few schools, including certain profoundly specific schools like Yale and Stanford, requireyou to send all your ACT scores. This implies that you can't utilize Score Choice, and youmust send them the scoresofevery ACT you took, regardless of whether there was a specific test date when you didnââ¬â¢t score just as you typically do. In this way, on the off chance that you took the ACT multiple times, you have to send these schoolsyour results from every one of those six test dates. Look at our total rundown of the schools that expect you to send all your ACT scores. Just a few schools expect you to send all your ACT scores What Do Colleges Do If You Send Multiple ACT Scores? You may wind up sending a school more than one ACT score, either in light of the fact that theyrequire it or on the grounds that you earnedmultiple solid scores and need schools to see them. So what do universities do on the off chance that they get more than one ACT score from you? There are a few choices, and each isexplained beneath. Most elevated Sitting Most schools, in the event that you send them more than one ACT score, will basically utilize yourhighest ACT composite score from a solitary test date. Along these lines, in the event that you took the ACT multiple times and got composite scores of 28, 29, and 30, the school would utilize your composite and segment scores of the test date when you got a 30. Superscoring Another strategy that a few schools use to decide your best score is called superscoring. When a school utilizes superscoring, that implies they consideryour most noteworthy area scores over all the dates you took the ACT and consolidate theminto a superscore. Take a gander at the model beneath to perceive how superscoring functions. English Math Perusing Science Composite Test 1 25 31 30 27 28 Test 2 27 29 32 28 29 Test 3 30 33 30 27 30 Superscore 30 33 32 28 31 This understudy took the ACT multiple times, and, as should be obvious, her composite superscore is higher than any of the composite ACT scores for singular test dates. This is on the grounds that superscoring joined every last bit of her most elevated area scores from over the three tests. In the event that you take the ACT with Writing, that segment isalso remembered for superscoring. For schools that utilization superscoring, this understudy would be considered to have a composite ACT score of 31, and her segment scores would be each of those recorded under the Superscore push. Superscoring benefits you since schools join your best scores from each area of the ACT into one superscore, regardless of whether those scores didnââ¬â¢t happen in the equivalent test.Wondering which universities use superscoring? We have a total rundown of schools that superscore the ACT. Will Schools Look at Your Other Scores? Whether or not a school utilizes superscoring or most noteworthy sitting, will they take a gander at your non-best ACT scores too? There's no obvious response to this inquiry since it differs for each school and frequently for every candidate; however, many times schools will take a gander at your other grades, regardless of whether your best score is the one they give the most weight to. This is especially valid for schools that require all scores sent. In these cases, your scores despite everything won't be arrived at the midpoint of, yet schools mayreview every one of your scores and make inductions if there were any exceptions. For instance, on the off chance that you take the ACT multiple times and get composite scores of 32, 27, and 33, most schools will utilize 33 as your official ACT score, however they may ask why you got a 27 for one test. One anomaly score will for the most part have a little, assuming any, sway on your application, yet it's as yet imperative to never pass over an ACT examjust on the grounds that you figure schools will just gander at your best score. As referenced above, schools that permit Score Choice just observe the scores you send them, so you can take the ACT a few times and just send your most noteworthy scorein request for that to be the main resultsthey see. The following areas give more proposals on howyou can utilize school score approaches toplan and improve your ACT readiness strategies. Would you be able to Take the ACT the same number of Times as You Want? Since most schools will useyour best ACT score, either by utilizing superscoring or most noteworthy sitting, does that mean you can accept the ACT the same number of times as you need so as to amplify your odds of getting a high score? Not actually. You are permitted to take the ACT up to multiple times, and schools will proceed touse your best score from those tests, regardless of whether by utilizing superscoring or most noteworthy sitting. However, itisnot suggested that you really take the ACT multiple times. By and large, you shouldnââ¬â¢t take the ACT more than five or multiple times. Taking the ACT beyond what multiple times can make schools think you donââ¬â¢t pay attention to the test or experience difficulty improving your scores. It can likewise becomevery unpleasant and time-consuming,not to make reference to amazingly costly, on the grounds that you need to continue paying to take the ACT and to send your scores to schools.Taking the ACT the same number of times as you can is especially a poorly conceived notion on the off chance that one of yourschools requires All Scores sentbecause itincreases the possibility of you having an off-day and getting a lower than common score, which those schools will see and which can hurt your odds of being conceded. Rather than accepting the ACT the same number of times as you can, you ought to rather take a gander at your test prep techniques and how powerful they are. Is your examining focusing on and improving your powerless zones? Is it accurate to say that you are realizing what botches you make and how to stay away from them? By investing time and energy into concentrating adequately, you will have the option to arrive at your objective ACT score more effectively than just taking the ACT over and over.In general, we suggest taking the ACT two-three times to get your best score, whether or not the schools youââ¬â¢re applying to utilize superscoring or most elevated sitting to decide your best score. Don't simply accept the ACT the same number of times as you can; it can hurt your school applications. How Might You Use Score Policies to Improve Your ACT Prep? On the off chance that you realize which schools you need to concern, you can take a gander at their score strategies and use them to help manage your test-taking procedure. Those schools will see the entirety of your test scores, so you donââ¬â¢t need one terrible test day to hurt your school applications. You will likewise need to continue reading for each segment of the ACT, regardless of whether you are just attempting to improve your score in one explicit area. You don't need scores from your different areas to drop on a retake. Regardless of whether the schools youââ¬â¢re applying to permit superscoring orScore Choice, you ought to consistently take the ACT seriously. As referenced over, a low score canbe a warning to schools, and itââ¬â¢s additionally only a misuse of your time and cash. To Kill A Mockingbird Conformity Analysis - 1285 Words
John F. Kennedy once said, ââ¬Å"conformity is jailer of freedom and the enemy of growth.â⬠I happen to think this quote is very true, because if no one ever had a different opinion, then would anything ever change? Or would it all stay the same? Forever? The idea of conformity can be seen as a good, or a bad thing. In many cases it is a bad thing, as one idea that is wrong is the only one that people think is right. This can specifically be seen in the novel To Kill A Mockingbird. Atticus, one of the main characters, needs to defend a black man named Tom Robinson. In his town of Maycomb most of the people think of black people as nothing. Although the whole town would be against him if he did it, Atticus knows that it is the rightâ⬠¦show more contentâ⬠¦He knows that even if the whole town is against him, he needs to be different, and stand up for what he knows is right. In this situation Atticus was being a nonconformist, and trying to do what was right. I think that m ost people, today, know that black people used to be treated very poorly, and someone in the ousts sticking up for them was hard to come by. If no one ever made the choice like Atticus, then our world would never change. It is like if everyone only liked pizza, and did not want to change their opinion about it, they would never eat anything else. At some point someone has to take actions and try to eat more foods, it would make everything so much better. This relates back to Atticus and Maycomb because if he had nev decided to take the case, and try, Maycomb would never even start to change and except black people like Tom. Would you want a world with no change? I dont think so. It is important to have a world with change, and this all starts with one voice, the voice of a non-conformist, an upstander. The importance doing this is huge in the book. When Atticus decided to defend Tom, it created a spark of change. He changed the minds of some people, including his kids, Jem and Scout . In the end it is easy to see that the ââ¬Å"ways of Maycombâ⬠are slowly starting to change, just little by little. The only way this could have started is by one person standing out, and that was Atticus. Paper Essay Summary Example For Students
Paper Essay Summary Lets go smoke some weed man now when that question gets asked to you, you might have to say no. Why is that? You think of the consequences that could come to you if you do it and get caught. As of now pot is illegal and most parents dont accept there kid smoking weed. So in this paper I will tell you why pot should be legal. I will also give some things that have been said negative and I will disprove them. I will also discuss about hemp, what marijuana is and where it comes from. Also as you are reading this I will use two other names for marijuana these are pot and weed.If you smoke pot you will get high. Pot can do other things for you other then just get you high, you can benefit from marijuana . Pot comes from an all natural plant. Using marijuana and the growing of hemp (ingredient in marijuana making) are illegal in the US. Pot can be used for just the enjoyment of being high and feeling very relaxed. It also can be used as medicine which is legal and other things which I will discuss later. As for hemp it can be used for things like necklaces which you all have seen most likely. Hemp is sold all over the world. It is sold so often because of the things you can make with it. So why is weed illegal in the US. People just use it to feel more relaxed and in a calmer state of mind. Tobacco and alcohol are both used for the same reasons, but with many more negative side effects than pot. Tobacco and alcohol can create cancer and other things to harm you body. In many people alcohol brings out the worst of them. This usually happens when someone becomes an alcoholic. Many people become violent when they hit this point. In Maxim it said that more then seventy million Americans have smoked marijuana at some point in their lives. If you think about that statistic it isnt hard to believe. At least for me because most people I know have at least tried it and that also includes older people like adults. Pot really has no true affects that will really harm you. I have never heard of any deaths caused by pot. Have you ever heard on the news that man died from an overdose of marijuana? I know I havent. Now think of how many deaths come from tobacco and alcohol about a half million. That is only deaths that doesnt say how many people have lip cancer and things that arent going to kill them. People say marijuana is addicting, but marijuana is not an addicting drug. People who smoke marijuana feel relaxed, and also laugh more then usual. I dont know why you laugh more but it is true. When using marijuana you do get less coordinated and dont perform many things as well as when not high. As long as people dont drive there is nothing to worry about now I know there isnt a really positive aspect of this, but were is the negative point. They could also make a law like how we have now you can not drive under the influence of alcohol, you could have it say you cant drive under the influence of weed. I know they could make some little tool that could detect weed on you. It should be up to people if they want to get high. We live somewhere where people have many rights and much freedom. So why are they trying to not let you get high. Whats wrong if someone w ants to smoke in their spare time. That doesnt hurt anyone. It isnt going to be harmful to the world if people get high and are relaxed. I think there will be many less fights and things like that. Marijuana is now legal for medical purposes in some states. So that means if you have a disease or illness that they think can be helped by pot they will give it to you. People with really bad headaches and other things that seem like calming down and relaxing will help can now legally use marijuana. If someone is really upsetmarijuana could help him or her by making them relaxed and happy so they dont worry about what there upset about anymore. Marijuana could be used for depression and other things like that. Cancer and AIDS studies have also have put marijuana as a treatment. It has been shown that AIDS patients receive benefits from smoking marijuana. As of now they have noticed pot helping you in treating pain, nausea, and help you if you have AIDS. Its proven that pot doesnt cut you r immune system more or anything else that would make you move from HIV to the Aids virus faster. Also if you have the Aids virus it doesnt make you go through the stages faster. Which means it has no real side affect or very harmful negative to it. In general pot does have few little negatives and one of those negative is that it doesnt become physically addicting but it may become addicting in you mind. So rather then needing it you depend on the drug to get through your basic life. If someone were to smoke marijuana frequently they might feel the need to be high before they do anything, you become accustom to doing things while being high that if your not it doesnt feel right. These things are things you should be in the right state of mind for, like school, or your job, or even I know of people that had to do it before athletic events. You also do this because you are less worried about failure and other things while you are high. These are the same things that happen with peopl e who frequently use alcohol or addicted to alcohol or tobacco. So as long as people dont abuse pot, there really is no reason to keep it illegal. There is no way to guarantee that people wont abuse pot though. You would have to just figure they would not. You also have to think that it is just as easy to get right now as it would be if it were in a Giant Eagle. So if someone were going to abuse pot they could do it either way. Just if it was legal they wouldnt get in trouble finally and since it is illegal they can get in trouble. This trouble is usually just a fine and really doesnt stop anyone from doing anything. If your just going to make people pay fines for doing it why not just make it legal and make more money off of it by selling it. .u70ca466e4628b2703844e9cd61df9612 , .u70ca466e4628b2703844e9cd61df9612 .postImageUrl , .u70ca466e4628b2703844e9cd61df9612 .centered-text-area { min-height: 80px; position: relative; } .u70ca466e4628b2703844e9cd61df9612 , .u70ca466e4628b2703844e9cd61df9612:hover , .u70ca466e4628b2703844e9cd61df9612:visited , .u70ca466e4628b2703844e9cd61df9612:active { border:0!important; } .u70ca466e4628b2703844e9cd61df9612 .clearfix:after { content: ""; display: table; clear: both; } .u70ca466e4628b2703844e9cd61df9612 { display: block; transition: background-color 250ms; webkit-transition: background-color 250ms; width: 100%; opacity: 1; transition: opacity 250ms; webkit-transition: opacity 250ms; background-color: #95A5A6; } .u70ca466e4628b2703844e9cd61df9612:active , .u70ca466e4628b2703844e9cd61df9612:hover { opacity: 1; transition: opacity 250ms; webkit-transition: opacity 250ms; background-color: #2C3E50; } .u70ca466e4628b2703844e9cd61df9612 .centered-text-area { width: 100%; position: relative ; } .u70ca466e4628b2703844e9cd61df9612 .ctaText { border-bottom: 0 solid #fff; color: #2980B9; font-size: 16px; font-weight: bold; margin: 0; padding: 0; text-decoration: underline; } .u70ca466e4628b2703844e9cd61df9612 .postTitle { color: #FFFFFF; font-size: 16px; font-weight: 600; margin: 0; padding: 0; width: 100%; } .u70ca466e4628b2703844e9cd61df9612 .ctaButton { background-color: #7F8C8D!important; color: #2980B9; border: none; border-radius: 3px; box-shadow: none; font-size: 14px; font-weight: bold; line-height: 26px; moz-border-radius: 3px; text-align: center; text-decoration: none; text-shadow: none; width: 80px; min-height: 80px; background: url(https://artscolumbia.org/wp-content/plugins/intelly-related-posts/assets/images/simple-arrow.png)no-repeat; position: absolute; right: 0; top: 0; } .u70ca466e4628b2703844e9cd61df9612:hover .ctaButton { background-color: #34495E!important; } .u70ca466e4628b2703844e9cd61df9612 .centered-text { display: table; height: 80px; padding-left : 18px; top: 0; } .u70ca466e4628b2703844e9cd61df9612 .u70ca466e4628b2703844e9cd61df9612-content { display: table-cell; margin: 0; padding: 0; padding-right: 108px; position: relative; vertical-align: middle; width: 100%; } .u70ca466e4628b2703844e9cd61df9612:after { content: ""; display: block; clear: both; } READ: Can We Say no To Recycling EssayAnother problem is that people start with pot then they decide they want something different something with the new edge and move onto heavier drugs. There is always a drug that is new that everyone needs to try they say. Like right now the most popular drug other then marijuana is ecstasy. We all know that pot has a much less affect in the short and long term then Ecstasy. Marijuana the gateway drug. After you use pot for a long time, you feel like you need a change something different. There is no specific drug everyone goes to after pot. This will usually depend on what is there for you to get and if you got the money to pay for it. Also what is the hot drug at the time. Someone in a poorer area would most likely move on to heroin ,because it is a cheaper way to go but is a much stronger drug but not the strongest. If you are from a wealthier area you would usually move to a hallucinogen such as LSD. Hallucinogens are usually more money due to the effect it gives you when you take it. The last negative aspect of making it legal is that many people claim there will be an increased amount of use. That is simply wrong in my opinion. I think if something is legal it will become less used. I feel this way because you wont think about it as much and it wont be offered to you as much. I know if I am at a party or just out I usually have people come up to me and ask if I want to by any weed. I do think it might make more people try it because they wont worry about getting in trouble. I also think though that there isnt a big thing if someone trys it at least there trying it on there own free will and not being pressured. I also think that right now people use a drug like pot to rebel against there parents. Now I dont think that it would be rebellion if it were legal. If that were so people would rebel against there parents by chewing come or eating a hamburger. So in conclusion why do we have this drug still being illegal. Pot has many positive effects which I discussed during this paper. Think of the things that would be better if pot was just legal and sold over the counter. Think how much cigarettes get sold I think pot would be sold twice as much and for more money. We should help are selves and let the kids get high and have are cops stop harassing these people, and find something that is hurting someone. People arent getting hurt from smoking some natural green weed. So everyone fight for your right to get high and have a good time. Words/ Pages : 1,742 / 24
